INVITE #Expert call# Cybersecurity – Can the sector benefit from higher defence spending?

We are delighted to be hosting a call with Bjørn R. Watne , ex Telenor, former Senior Vice President and Chief Security Officer (CSO) on Friday 4^th April, 3pm UK, 10am ET.

 As part of the USA’s possible retreat from NATO, and a need for Europe to be security independent, defence budgets are rising across Europe, and we think it highly likely that cybersecurity will feature heavily as part of that. Bjorn is well placed to talk about how these extra funds might filter through to Telcos, and how the need for increased network resilience and domestic security concerns (domestic DCs, domestic cloud etc) will benefit (or not) the Telco providers.

 Bjørn has held several senior positions procuring IT services, specialising in Cybersecurity. Bjørn was responsible for purchasing endpoint security and network security software and can speak about the key providers and buyers, their products and customer needs in this space. Prior to this role, Bjørn held the role of Chief Operating Officer at Watchcom Security Group, a provider of endpoint security software. Bjørn is well placed to talk about one of the key hot topics in the sector at the moment therefore: cybersecurity, and how the sector will be impacted by defence spending going up in Europe.
